Because sometimes the future happens first
-a fragment of what is already written
Some moments do not belong to time. They belong to something greater, they belong to the universe. In 2003, we photographed María Vázquez holding the Argentine Open trophy, dressed in green. At the time, it was simply an image. Today, it feels like a message. Because sometimes the future happens first. A fragment appears, quietly, long before it becomes reality. Green was just a color. And María was only beginning to build her family.
These images were taken in December 2003, just before the Argentine Open final. For the first time, the Argentine Polo Association entrusted us with the Open trophy. At that moment, La Dolfina was only just beginning to take shape. “We are just starting to build it,” María said then. We want to launch a brand—La Dolfina. It gives me the opportunity to create something together with Adolfito, contributing what I know: fashion and aesthetics. We want to establish our base here and then take it to the world. We want to transcend, until La Dolfina becomes a concept.”
Twenty-two years later, that beginning has taken form. La Dolfina is no longer a vision in progress, but a legacy shaped by family. And María alongside Adolfo Cambiaso—has become its center: the structure, the constant, the one who builds and sustains.
Looking back, it is impossible not to wonder if that moment in 2003 already belonged to the future. We were there, inside it—without yet knowing. Today, that vision lives fully realized. Her entire family is dedicated to polo, and María has not only built La Dolfina—she has expanded her creative universe, co-founding Rokkus Lantrophy.
What once felt like a beginning now reads as destiny.
